South Carolina woman charged in Columbus County after allegedly allowing sexual abuse of three children

COLUMBUS COUNTY, N.C. (WWAY) — A South Carolina woman was arrested Monday after investigators alleged she allowed a man to sexually abuse three children in her custody.
Mary Blanton, 52, of Loris, South Carolina, is charged with three counts of felony child abuse by sexual act. A warrant for her arrest was issued June 9.
According to the arrest warrant, Blanton allowed Jeromy Blanton to engage in sexual contact with three children under the age of 16 while they were in her custody. Court documents allege the offenses occurred dating back to Jan. 2, 2019.
Jeromy Lee Blanton, 44, of South Carolina, was arrested June 10 by the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office. He faces multiple charges involving the alleged sexual abuse of children, including seven counts of statutory rape of a child age 15 or younger.
Jeromy Blanton appeared in Columbus County court on June 11, where he was ordered held without bond. He had a probable cause hearing on July 2 and is scheduled to return to court Sept. 10 for a disposition hearing.
Mary Blanton appeared in Columbus County court on July 7 and is scheduled to return July 21.
