Southport-Fort Fisher ferry remains suspended for ramp repairs

Southport, NC (WWAY) — The Southport-Fort Fisher ferry route remains suspended while crews complete repairs to the ferry ramp at the Southport Terminal.
The N.C. Department of Transportation’s Ferry Division suspended service Sept. 12. The closure is expected to last no more than four days.
NCDOT says the work will complete a ramp repair process that began in March and is needed for the continued safe and reliable operation of the route.
Regular off-season ferry service is expected to resume no later than Sept. 16.
Travelers who normally use the Southport-Fort Fisher route are being advised to plan around the temporary suspension until service resumes.
