SpaceX launch visible across the Cape Fear region

Wilmington, NC (WWAY) — A SpaceX rocket launch was visible across parts of southeastern North Carolina on Tuesday, with viewers in the Wilmington area capturing video of the bright streak moving across the sky.
According to SpaceX, SpaceX launched it’s Falcon 9 rocket Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) early Tuesday morning with the goal to deliver 29 Starlink satellites to low-Earth orbit.
Viewers in Wilmington and surrounding Cape Fear communities reported seeing the rocket’s glowing trail shortly after liftoff, sharing pictures and videos that show a bright, moving light cutting across the sky.
While the launch originated from Florida, clear conditions allowed the rocket plume to be visible hundreds of miles away, including along the North Carolina coastline.
SpaceX regularly conducts launches like this from Florida, and under the right conditions, they can be visible from neighboring states.
