No. 3 North Carolina wins on Grand Strand

CONWAY, S.C. (AP) — LaToya Pringle’s season highs of 20 points and 12 rebounds led third-ranked North Carolina to an 82-58 victory over Coastal Carolina.

The Tar Heels won for the 11th time in 12 games, but not without a struggle. They had a 24-point lead cut in half down the stretch in their latest trip to the Myrtle Beach area.

But Rashanda McCants had 18 points and Elana Larkins 14 points as the Tar Heels won their seventh straight on the Grand Strand. They can add to that on Thursday night when they play Western Kentucky as part of The Carolina Challenge at the Myrtle Beach
Convention Center.

The Tar Heels improved to 19-4 all-time along the Strand and haven’t lost there since Dec. 2001.
