UNC’s Yates undergoes shoulder surgery
CHAPEL HILL (AP) — North Carolina quarterback TJ Yates underwent successful surgery on his right shoulder Monday at UNC Hospitals.
A statement from the school said the native of Marietta, Ga., will return to football action in 6-7 months, and will most likely miss spring practice. Yates is expected to make a full recovery and be ready for the 2008 season.
Yates set a school record for passing yards in 2007 and set school freshman records for completions and attempts.
