Students celebrate parent involvement by tossing water balloons at school leaders

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The principal and the assistant principal at Wilmington’s Codington Elementary had a chance to cool off this afternoon, but probably not the way they wanted to.

As a reward for getting 100 percent PTA involvement in their class, some students got to lob a couple of water balloons at the administrators.

“We’ve been in school for over five weeks,” principal Eric Pfirman said. “We’re a year round school, so this was a nice break for about 15 minutes to go outside and have some fun on on a beautiful day.”

More than 140 students were able to throw balloons at the principal and assistant principal.
