Tabor City liquor vote fails by one vote

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Mixed drinks will not be available any time soon at restaurants in Tabor City.

A recount of the Nov. 5 on a referendum to allow the alcohol sale confirmed the measure failed by one vote, Columbus County Elections Director Carla Strickland said. The final count was 133 votes in favor of allowing mixed drink sales and 134 votes again.

Voters in Fair Bluff and Chadbourn approved similar measures during this month’s municipal elections.
