Tar Heels back in championship series

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — North Carolina did it the hard way, but they are back in the championship series of the College World Series.

The Tar Heels beat Rice 7 to 4 last night. It was the second straight day North Carolina beat Rice in order to qualify for the championship series that begins Saturday night.

The opponent will be familiar. North Carolina faces Oregon State. The two teams met in last year's championship series and Oregon State won.
