Teacher of the Week: Emily Myers

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Making math fun is what comes naturally for Teacher of the Week Emily Myers.

She teaches at Wilmington Early College High School where students have the opportunity to earn an Associates Degree at the same time they finish high school.

She says her favorite quote is:  “If you tell them they forget; if you show them they remember, but if you involve them they understand” and that is why she engages them in her life and gets involved in theirs.

That is the philosophy she uses to make her math lessons fun for her students and create lifelong learners who are ready for the challenges of college life and after.
