Teen hospitalized after being bit while in ocean at Sunset Beach

SUNSET BEACH, NC (WWAY) — The Sunset Beach Fire Chief says a teen was bitten on the foot while in the ocean last Friday.

The fire chief tells WWAY he can’t confirm if it was a shark.

The call came in just before 3 p.m. Friday near the pier.

EMS responded and a teenage girl was taken to the hospital.

The fire chief says very few details are available about what happened.
