Tennessee man’s body found in western NC creek
CHEROKEE, N.C. (AP) – Authorities are investigating the discovery of a man’s body in a creek near Harrah’s Cherokee Hotel and Casino in western North Carolina.
Cherokee Police Department spokeswoman Alica Wildcatt identified the man Monday as 84-year-old Robert Evans of Jonesborough, Tenn. Wildcatt said no foul play is suspected.
Wildcat said police responded to a report of the body in Soco Creek Monday morning. The creek runs beside the casino off U.S. 19.
