Thalian Association presents ‘Pippin’ this weekend
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The show must go on!
After Hurricane Florence cancelled two weeks of rehearsals and the original premiere date, the Thalian Association is pushing forward with it’s production of the Tony Award winning hit ‘Pippin’ this weekend.
It follows a young prince who longs to find passion and adventure in his life. To prove his loyalty to his distracted father, King Charles, Pippin goes to war. But when the Leading Player convinces the prince to fight tyranny, Pippin must take control of his own destiny.
Stars Joe Basquil, who plays Pippin, and Hunter Wyatt, how plays Catherine, say the production at Thalian Hall updates the story and moves into a French dance hall. It will be a turn of the century re-telling of the famous story.
Shows are Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m.
