The Club at Midtown to celebrate grand opening in Wilmington on Nov. 6

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A new private racquet and social club in Wilmington is preparing to celebrate its grand opening this week, offering a variety of recreational, fitness and dining amenities.
The Club at Midtown will hold its grand opening celebration Friday, Nov. 6, from 3 to 6 p.m., featuring a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Built on the former Holly Tree Racquet Club property, the new facility offers several amenities designed for sports, wellness and social activities.
The club features 11 indoor, air-conditioned pickleball courts, four covered outdoor pickleball courts, two clay tennis courts and Full Swing golf and game simulators.
Additional amenities include a Junior Olympic-size resort-style swimming pool, a pool house with a steam room, a fitness center and a members-only restaurant, café and bar.
The facility is designed to be one of the largest racquet and social clubs in the region, with plans to host leagues, tournaments and social events throughout the year.
“We created The Club at Midtown as a place where members can compete, unwind, and build lasting connections,” said Mike Harms, managing partner. “It is designed for active lifestyles and genuine community right in the heart of Midtown.”
Additional amenities planned for 2027
Club officials say several improvements and additions are already planned for next year.
Plans include adding bocce ball, badminton and cornhole near the outdoor pickleball courts to provide more opportunities for recreational activities and social gatherings.
The club also plans to introduce a dedicated Mahjong room, giving members another space to gather and participate in games.
Additional improvements are planned for the swimming pool, which is scheduled to be replastered and heated ahead of the 2027 pool season.
“These planned additions reflect our vision for The Club at Midtown to be much more than a place to play sports,” Harms said. “We are building a community where members can stay active, discover new interests, spend time with family and friends, and enjoy meaningful social connections throughout the year.”
Club officials say memberships are limited.
