Topsail Marching Pirates to receive invitation to 2028 London New Year’s Day Parade

HAMPSTEAD, NC (WWAY) — The Topsail High School Marching Pirates are set to receive a formal invitation to participate in the 42nd annual London New Year’s Day Parade.

The invitation will be presented during a ceremony Monday, October 5, from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. in the Topsail High School auditorium at 245 N. St. Johns Church Road in Hampstead.

The parade is scheduled for January 1, 2028, in London.

Band members, families, school staff and community guests are expected to attend the invitation ceremony.

Guests from London will include Bob Bone, principal patron of The London Parade, and Steve Summers, deputy lieutenant and former lord mayor of the City of Westminster.

Parents and community guests can check in beginning at 9:15 a.m. in the auditorium lobby. Guests are asked to check in as school visitors before entering the auditorium.

Members of the media are invited to attend and cover the ceremony.
