Tour gives chance to explore downtown Wilmington lifestyle

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Those looking for a house or apartment in downtown Wilmington were in luck Saturday as Wilmington Downtown Inc. held its Downtown Lifestyle Tour.

The self-guided tour allowed people to check out about a dozen houses, townhomes, and lofts around downtown at their own pace in an open house style event.

The showcased residences came in a variety of price ranges and included homes for sale or rent.

There’s a growing trend of people wanting to live as close to the action downtown as possible and this tour gave them the opportunity to explore that desire.

“There’s been a huge increase over the past five or six years of people wanting to live in downtown. Now, I think we’re really at the top of that wave, where more and more people are accepting of that lifestyle and want to explore it a little further, so this is a great way to do it,” said Ed Wolverton, the president and CEO of WDI.

This is the sixth year that WDI has held the tour.
