WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The third annual Trick or Treat Fest brought pop culture fans, local artists and small businesses together in Wilmington for a Halloween-themed event.

Held at the Elks Lodge, the event featured vendors selling comic books, anime merchandise, retro toys and handmade items.

Families could also trick-or-treat from vendor to vendor and participate in Halloween cosplay contests for children and adults.

Co-organizer Sierra Staggs said the event also provides an opportunity for local artists to showcase their work and connect with potential customers.

“I do think it’s important for local businesses, especially in this day and age. More and more talented young artists are coming out, and they don’t really know how to start. So, we like to dedicate at least 25% of our vendor spaces to local artists. It gives them a place to come out, show off their work, get their name out there and start building a following.”

Staggs says they plan to host another pop culture event in March before bringing Trick or Treat Fest back next October.
