Trio rescued from Cape Fear River after boat dies in cold, rough conditions
LELAND, NC (WWAY) — Three people were rescued after their boat died while on the Cape Fear River Monday morning, according to Leland Fire and Rescue.
Fire/Rescue Chief John Grimes said the trio called for help and instead of making them wait for a tow, they made a decision to get them out of the frigid weather and rough water conditions.
The incident happened around 10 a.m. Monday. After being rescued from the disabled boat, the three were taken to the Belville boat ramp.
No injured were reported.
