Twelve cuts made at SECC

Southeastern Community College in Columbus County has cut twelve positions.

Schools officials confirmed that nine staff and three faculty positions were eliminated Tuesday due to impending budget cuts.

Staff positions include the college webmaster, the director of public information, and office assistants.

A sociology instructor, parks and natural resources management instructor and a physical education instructor will also be out of work.

The cuts go into effect at the end of the month.
