Two arrested for high-speed chase in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police arrested two men in connection with a high-speed chase Saturday.

Police said Paul Aiello, 21, Austin Yu, 17, Andrew Cottle, 21, were taken into custody after a chase that exceeded speeds of 60 miles per hour along Oleander Dr. Cottle was released without charges.

Police said items were thrown from the car as the chase happened. They recovered three air soft guns, marijuana, other drug paraphernalia, along with a mask and a stolen license plate.

Aiello was identified as the driver. He is in jail under a $100,000 bond. He is charged with felony fleeing to elude arrest, driving with a revoke license, possession with intent to sell/deliver MDMA, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Yu is charged with possession of marijuana, MDMA and LSD. Yu is also charged with three counts of assault by pointing a gun. He is in jail under a $25,000 bond.
