Two injured by shots fired, two suspects detained in Whiteville

WHITEVILLE, N.C. (WWAY) — Whiteville police say two people have been injured in a shooting., and two suspects were detained.

Police say a call came in after 6:30 p.m. about shots fired near the Sandy Ridge Apartments.

Whiteville Police are currently processing the crime scene as they begin their investigation.

UPDATE (10:35 p.m.): Whiteville Police Chief Douglas Ipock says that the two victims were both adults.

He says that they were both okay at the time of the shooting, but there’s no further word on their current condition.

Two suspects were detained, but no arrests have been made at this time.

The investigation is ongoing.
