Two people reportedly struck by lightning on Wrightsville Beach

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, N.C. (WWAY) — Two people were reportedly struck by lightning Friday morning while walking along the beach on the north end of Wrightsville Beach.

According to initial reports, the incident happened around 11:43 a.m. just north of Shell Island.

The conditions of the two people were not immediately known.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene, and additional details have not yet been released.
