Two pregnant cows safely returned home after escaping in Brunswick County

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Two pregnant cows are back home safely after escaping from a local family’s property, according to the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office said deputies and volunteers spent hours searching for the cows and working to safely bring them home.

The effort took place in the heat, with responders taking precautions to protect the animals, themselves and everyone involved.

The family later thanked Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office deputies, Animal Protective Services and volunteers for helping locate the cows.

The sheriff’s office said the two cows are doing well. They are drinking water, eating and settling back in at home.

The sheriff’s office shared the story as an example of another call ending with a happy ending.
