UNCW appeals jury’s verdict, judge’s ruling in Adams lawsuit

The University of North Carolina Wilmington has filed a notice of appeal in criminology professor Mike Adams' case against the university.

The court documents filed May 7 say that UNCW is appealing the March jury verdict in Adams v. UNCW and the April order denying UNCW's request for a new trial.

But when asked if UNCW is appealing the verdict of the case, the university will only say it is "preserving its rights consistent with its responsibilities to the citizens of the state of North Carolina" in a statement regarding the legal fees in the case.
