UNCW Softball Coach receives contract extension through 2029

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — UNCW softball head coach Ashley Wade has received a contract extension through June 30, 2029, the university announced.

Wade has a 116-91 record through four seasons, including a 67-35 mark in Coastal Athletic Association play.

Under her leadership, the Seahawks won the 2024 CAA Tournament and the 2026 CAA South Division title. The team also set a program record with 18 conference wins in 2024 and finished 18-6 in league play in 2026.

Hired in August 2022, Wade is the fifth head coach in program history.
