UNCW students to compete in Cook Out-themed race near campus

Wilmington, NC (WWAY) — A group at the University of North Carolina Wilmington is organizing an unusual race Wednesday that will challenge participants to combine running with a Cook Out meal.

Kings College UNCW announced the event on social media, describing it as a race between two Cook Out locations near the university.

According to the post, participants will begin at one Cook Out, eat a tray, run to another Cook Out location, drink a milkshake and then race to the finish line.

The event is scheduled for Wednesday, August 19th, at 7 p.m., with participants meeting at the Seahawk statue near the roundabout on Wagoner Drive.

Organizers said spectators are also welcome to attend.

The competition includes cash prizes of $100 for first place, $50 for second place and $25 for third place. The post lists a $10 entry fee for runners.
