UNCW’s Lumina Festival of the Arts happening until July 29

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Whether you like painting, opera or slam poetry, there’s something for everyone at UNCW’s Lumina Festival of the Arts.

The festival is in its second year and runs until July 29 on the campus of UNCW. There are events for the whole family and most are at little or no cost. Office of the Arts Director Kristen Brogdon said the festival started as a way to celebrate the art and artists of the coastal south.

Some events at this year’s festival include Opera Wilmington’s production of Die Fledermaus, Alchemical Theatre’s production of Twelfth Night and a performance by Grammy-winning artist Rhiannon Giddens.
