UPDATE: Abducted children on their way back to Pender County, mom still in SC
PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) – The woman who is facing charges for abducting her children is in jail in Lexington County, South Carolina, awaiting extradition to North Carolina.
The Pender County Sheriff’s Office says on Wednesday afternoon, 7-year-old Colby Pratt and 6-year old Selena Pratt were abducted by their non-custodial, biological mother, Nikcole Legeria Pratt as they got of the bus.
Investigators say the kids attend Malpass Corner Elementary and had just gotten off the bus at their foster parents’ home on Bell Williams Road. After getting off the bus, the children ran across the road to where their mother was waiting and got in a white 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe XL with the tags EBS-8738.
Around 1:00 a.m., the children were located in Lexington County.
Pratt is charged with two counts of a Felony Custody Order Violation. The New Hanover County Department of Social Services is bringing the children back to our area today. Pratt is being held under no bond, pending extradition to NC.
