UPDATE: Second shooting suspect turns himself in
BURGAW, NC (WWAY) — Burgaw Police say the second man wanted in an apartment complex shooting has turned himself in.
It happened Tuesday night after 6:15 p.m. at the Durham Village Apartment Complex. Officers say they responded to a shots fired call and when they arrived, they stopped a vehicle with Theio Manley, 24, (left) and Johnnie Herring, 34 (right) inside. Manley ran off in a wooded area and was caught; Herring was able to run away from authorities, police say.
Thursday morning, police say Herring turned himself in. He’s facing charges including firearm charges, resisting an officer and leaving the scene of an accident. He was placed in jail under a $10,000 secured bond.
Manley is facing various firearm charges; he was booked under a $50,000 bond.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
