US Airways jet skids off CLT runway; no one hurt
CHARLOTTE, NC (AP) — A jet from Myrtle Beach has skidded off the runway at Charlotte Douglas International Airport, but no one was hurt.
The two front wheels of a US Airways Express aircraft ran off the runway and onto the grass Sunday evening.
The 79 passengers on Flight 2658 were taken by bus to the terminal.
US Airways spokesman Bill McGlashen says the plane had landed about 6:15 p.m. and was nearly stopped when the nose gear edged off the runway.
McGlashen says officials are trying to figure out what happened.
