US Senate candidate Brannon defendant in tech suit

RALEIGH, NC (AP) — A lawsuit set for trial next week alleges US Senate candidate Greg Brannon and a technology corporation executive misled investors about an opportunity in the mobile phone field.
The two investors suing in Wake County court say they should have returned $250,000 investments in Neogence Enterprises plus damages. An attorney previously involved in the case says Brannon was a company director.
The 2012 lawsuit alleges Brannon and CEO Robert Rice told the investors that their technology had the opportunity to be preinstalled in Verizon smartphones, but that Verizon never told company leaders that.
Brannon is one of several Republican primary hopefuls. He said through his campaign he looked forward to his day in court and was confident the litigation would be resolved.
