Vertex subsidiary gives NourishNC $30,000+ grant
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A New Hanover County non-profit has a new sponsor for a program at two Wilmington schools.
According to a news release from NourishNC, Vertex Outreach Services gave the non-profit $30,725 for its Backpack Program at Rachel Freeman Elementary School and the Dorothy B. Johnson Pre-K Center.
Vertex Outreach Services is a subsidiary of Vertex Railcar Corporation.
“Vertex has demonstrated an enduring commitment to ending child hunger in New Hanover County,” said Steve McCrossan, the NourishNC Executive Director. “This grant is the embodiment of Vertex’s philosophy of ‘Be Good, Do Good’. We are beyond excited to continue our partnership with Vertex and their employees who volunteer at our warehouse monthly.”
