Victim hospitalized after alleged road rage shooting in Columbus County
COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an alleged road rage incident that left one person hospitalized after being shot.
A sheriff’s office spokesperson says the victim was shot and the suspect left the scene.
EMS transported the victim to the hospital. The victim’s condition was not immediately available.
Authorities have not yet released details about when or where the shooting happened or whether anyone is facing charges.
The sheriff’s office also shared a road rage safety reminder on social media, urging drivers not to engage with aggressive motorists.
The agency advises drivers to give aggressive motorists space, allow them to pass and avoid making gestures or challenging them. Drivers are also urged not to follow or confront an aggressive driver.
The incident remains under investigation.
