Warrants suggest Craigslist led to murder suspects in Bladen native’s death

RALEIGH, NC (AP) — Warrants released in the murder of a Bladen County native in Raleigh suggest the three suspects may have been apprehended with the help of Craigslist.

The warrants say the three may have been caught after posting a stolen laptop on Craigslist. The seller posted photos of what the warrant describes as “unique alphanumeric character identifiers” on the computer and a phone number.

Police arranged an undercover meeting with the seller, who identified himself as a Wake Forest resident. But the man never showed and his cellphone was turned off.

The suspects facing murder charges are 23-year-old Ronald Lee Anthony Jr., 18-year-old Sarah Rene Redden and 20-year-old Travian Devonte Smith. All three are in the Wake County Jail. They’re charged in the death of Melissa Dawn Huggins-Jones days before her 31st birthday last month.
