Westbound lanes of Market Street to close overnight for water repair

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Drivers traveling on Market Street in Wilmington should expect an overnight detour Wednesday while crews make a water service repair.

Both westbound lanes of Market Street between North 20th and North 19th streets will close beginning at 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7.

The closure affects the 1900 block of Market Street and is expected to remain in place for about eight hours.

Westbound traffic will be detoured from North 20th Street to Princess Street and then to North 19th Street.

Eastbound traffic on Market Street will not be affected.

Drivers traveling through the area should plan accordingly while the repair is underway.
