WHA, Sparks reach tentative settlement
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — After more than five years in the court system, the lawsuit between the Wilmington Housing Authority and former City Councilman Ronald Sparks has been settled.
According to the clerk’s office the parties reached a tentative settlement. A final settlement is expected to be reached in about a month.
The suit filed by the Housing Authority claims sparks was negligent when inspecting and recommending the purchase of the Eastbook Apartments, which later had to be evacuated due to mold and mildew.
The parties involved in the suit are not able to comment on the details until the settlement is finalized and made public.
