Wilmington, NC (WWAY) — If you’re looking for some family-friendly fun this weekend, there are plenty of activities to get out and enjoy. From berry blue celebrations to food truck round-ups and Father’s Day events, there is plenty of fun happening across the Cape Fear region.

The weekend kicks off on Friday as downtown Burgaw welcomes visitors for the kickoff concert of the 23rd annual North Carolina Blueberry Festival. The free event begins at 6 p.m. and features live music and local charm. Then, on Saturday, the streets will be filled with arts and crafts vendors, food, live entertainment, a car show, a 5k race, farm tours, contests, and, of course, blueberries.

WWAY will also have a booth at the festival, so don’t forget to stop by and say hi.

Also happening on Saturday, food lovers can head to Belleville Riverwalk Park for a day of food trucks, family fun, and riverfront views. More than 15 food trucks will be serving everything from barbecue and seafood to tacos and desserts. The family-friendly event starts at 11 a.m. and goes until 4 p.m. This year, a line dancing session will also be held from from noon until 2 p.m. hosted by Wilmington NC Line Dance.

Finally, on Sunday, families can celebrate Father’s Day at Scooter’s Family Skating Center. From 2 to 5 p.m., dads will receive free admission and skate rental while enjoying an afternoon of family fun at the rink.

Whether you’re skating, browsing various food trucks, or enjoying some blueberry treats, there’s plenty of fun for everyone to get out and enjoy this weekend.
