Whiteville Police investigating shooting

WHITEVILLE, N.C. (WWAY) — Police are investigating a shooting that happened around 5 P.M. on Monday, Oct. 5.

Officers found a man near the 300 block of E. Walter Street with a gunshot wound to his lower body.

The man was taken to Columbus Regional Health Care with a wound that police say appears to be non-life threatening.

The incident is still under investigation.
