Whiteville sacks football coach

WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) — The Whiteville Wolfpack will have a new football coach next fall.

Baxter Morris received a call from the Whiteville High School principal this morning letting him know he had been let go as head coach of the football team.

Morris told WWAY’s John Rendleman that according to both the principal and superintendent, the community wanted to go in a different direction. Morris said he was “shocked” and “blindsided” by the decision.
