Whiteville woman charged in child abuse investigation

COLUMBUS COUNTY, N.C. (WWAY) — A 27-year-old Whiteville woman is facing charges related to child abuse, according to Columbus County arrest records.

Kristen Michelle Bordeaux was arrested on Oct. 16, 2026, at approximately 1:21 p.m., records show.

Bordeaux faces charges of felony exposing a child to a controlled substance and felony neglect of a child resulting in serious physical injury.

Records show Bordeaux was not given bond on the charge involving exposing a child to a controlled substance. The second charge is listed as included with the other charge for bond purposes.

Both charges are listed as awaiting trial.
