Wilmington company heads to Silicon Valley for big pitch

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Wilmington company is about to get to make the pitch of a lifetime. KWIPPED started in 2014 and are a business to business platform for equipment and rental leases.

They’ve been accepted to pitch to investors at the Silicon Valley Open Doors Tech Conference, which could be a great opportunity for them and the job community in Wilmington.

“No question upon receiving investment we will be hiring. So it could have a pretty meaningful impact to the community specifically downtown. We enjoy being downtown and at this point intend to stay here. We would need technical people, sales people, marketing people so it could have a pretty meaningful impact,” Founder and CEO Robert Preville said.

Preville said he heads to the west coast to hopefully find an investor next week. The conference is on May 30 and 31.
