Wilmington events rescheduled due to weather

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The City of Wilmington announced that weather-related changes have caused multiple Friday, November 6, events to be postponed and rescheduled.

The Special Olympics Fall Games and Great Pumpkin Hunt have been rescheduled for later dates.

Celebrate Downtown, which was originally scheduled for October 30, will not be taking place.

However, Wilmington city officials said they will continue to offer opportunities for the community to learn about downtown projects and share feedback.

Officials also encouraged residents to follow the City’s social media channels for upcoming opportunities to learn about projects, connect with staff, and share feedback.

The New Hanover County Special Olympics Fall Games have been rescheduled for Friday, December 11, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Legion Stadium.

Volunteers are still needed and can sign up here.

The Great Pumpkin Hunt at the MLK Community Center has been rescheduled for Friday, November 13, from 5 to 8 p.m.
