Wilmington Fire officials respond to blaze on Kerr Avenue

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington Fire Department responded to a second alarm fire call at 939 South Kerr Avenue early Saturday morning.

Crews were able to get the structure fire under control just after 8 a.m. There was damage to several buildings nearby.

South Kerr Avenue was closed between Wrightsville Avenue and Wilshire Boulevard while the fire was attended to.

The southbound lane of South College Road was also blocked at Wilshire Boulevard due to the fire. That lane was reopened just before 11 a.m. Saturday morning.
