Wilmington Krispy Kreme to reopen Friday after renovations

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Donut lovers in Wilmington have not been able to feed their Krispy Kreme cravings because of renovations at the location on South College Road.

The store, which has an average of 500 cars a day visit, is freshening up with some new paint, ceiling tiles and a new floor, but don’t worry if you’re thinking your coupon might expire.

“I think our main concern was 12/12/12 and there’s a lot of 12/12/12 coupons out there, and I just want to make sure the customers know we will honor them Friday,” Director of Operations David Moore said.

Work is expected to be finished soon, and the store plans to reopen bright and early Friday morning.

That is just in time for WWAY and 103.7 The Bone to sponsor the One Day Blitz to restock the Salvation Army’s food pantry. Bring five cans of non-perishable items or $5 donations to Krispy Kreme from 5:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. Monday to restock the food pantry, and we’ll give you a dozen hot Krispy Kreme donuts. Many of us from WWAY will be there to help collect food. Now who said giving wasn’t sweet?
