Wilmington man arrested in shooting that seriously injured woman last Saturday
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A 33-year-old Wilmington man is in custody following an investigation into a shooting that seriously injured a woman on Nixon Street last Saturday.
The Wilmington Police Department identified the suspect as Garry Hines.
Hines is facing multiple charges, including assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
According to police, the shooting happened following an altercation between Hines and a 25-year-old woman.
The Cape Fear Regional SWAT Team arrested Hines Thursday morning at a residence on Downey Branch Lane.
Police said additional charges are expected following the execution of a search warrant.
Hines is being held at the New Hanover County Detention Center without bond.
