UPDATE: Suspect arrested in three overnight armed robberies


WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) – Police have arrested a man wanted for three armed robberies within a three hour span across Wilmington last night.

Leland police arrested Jeremy Matthew Turner, 29, after Wilmington police took out warrants for his arrest this morning.

 

Last night, 911 dispatch told us the armed robberies happened at the Scotchman at 901 S. 3rd at 7:59 P.M., CVS at 3302 Market St. at 9:01 P.M., and CVS at 4600 Oleander Dr. at 11:08 P.M.

Wilmington police say during the Scotchman robbery, Turner jumped behind the counter and grabbed money from the cash register while threatening the clerk with a knife. He then drove off.

Later, during the CVS robbery on Market Street, police say Turner grabbed the clerk and held her at knifepoint while demanding she open the register. Police say Turner took the money and drove away again.

Then, at the final CVS robbery, police say Turner once again walked behind the counter, threatened the clerk with a knife and stole money from the register before driving away.

No one got hurt during the armed robberies.
