Wilmington St. Patrick’s Day Parade to take place in September

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY) — The St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be held in September, according to parade organizers.

Organized by the Downtown Business Alliance and Cool Wilmington, the parade is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021 at 11 a.m.

The City of Wilmington and parade organizers cancelled the 2020 St. Patrick’s Day Parade due to COVID-19 just days before the parade was schedule to kick off.

Applications to participate in the parade will be emailed out in July and the committee expects the entry fee will still be $25.

The St. Patrick’s Day Festival will begin immediately after the parade concludes and last until 6 p.m.

The Festival will take place at a new location: Market St. & 2nd St.

Musical acts tentatively scheduled for the festival include Striking Copper, Malones, and the Blarney Brogues.
