Woman accused of animal abuse in Tabor City skips court

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) – A failed to appear warrant has been issued for the arrest of Casey Gore, after she refused to appear in court to answer to charges for animal abandonment.

On September 3, Hurricane Hermine’s effects led to the discovery of a possible felony dog abuse case in Tabor City.

Tabor City Police and Columbus County Animal Control found five dogs kept without food, only fed water to drink and mounds of feces inside their pens at an abandoned house on Floyd Street.

Police said some of the dogs had been without food for so long they were eating the feces mounds in the cage.

Today Casey Gore had court and Failed to Appear and a warrant is being issued for her refusal to come to court.

Morgan Gore, the second person charged in this case, has not had a court date set as of yet.
