Hit-and-run streamed live: Suspect arrested, charged with attempted murder

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington woman accused of intentionally running over another woman, an act caught on camera, is now behind bars.

19-year-old Shadasia Ellison was arrested Wednesday. She’s charged with attempted first degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon, hit and run, child abuse, among other charges.

The hit-and-run happened on Willard Street a little after 1 p.m. Monday. Police say a Facebook live video shows Ellison hitting a woman with her car. The victim, Tameka Cooper, has a minor leg injury.

Ellison being held in the New Hanover County jail under a $1,005,000 bond.
