WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Greater Wilmington Chamber of Commerce is now accepting project proposals for the 2027 ‘Work on Wilmington’ day of service. The chamber is looking for non-profits, schools and local government organizations.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 17, 2027, and will bring hundreds of volunteers together to complete service projects across New Hanover County during a four-hour period.

Projects should address a specific community need and provide a tangible benefit. Organizers are looking for projects that can be completed in four hours, create a visible impact and benefit from volunteer teamwork.

Projects involving dangerous work, including roofing, scaffolding, heavy power tools or excavation equipment, are not eligible.

Organizations must submit project proposals by 11:59 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, 2026. Applications and site inspections will be used for evaluation and do not guarantee approval.

Organizations can submit a proposal through the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce application page.
