Work on sewer system delayed
WILMINGTON — Work on Wilmington’s sewer system is not going to get finished on time because of failed water pressure tests.
City leaders expected the northeast interceptor line to be finished this week, but two isolated areas failed water pressure tests.
A city spokesperson says most parts of the line have passed tests, but the city doesn’t want to take any chances.
Supplies are being ordered to fix to the problem areas.
The new deadline for repairs is late February.
